Anxiety can show up in many ways, from racing thoughts and constant worrying to feeling like your body’s alarm system never shuts off. While anxiety is meant to keep you alert and safe, it can’t always tell the difference between real danger and everyday stress. Over time, this heightened state can leave you feeling exhausted, tense, and out of control. Many women cope by avoiding triggers or trying to manage every detail, but with anxiety therapy for women in Colorado, you can learn to calm your system and feel grounded again.
Some ways it may present:
Racing thoughts & or constant worry
Increased heart rate, Physical tension, stomach issues, chest and body tightness
Obsessive thoughts & compulsions
Feeling “on edge” or unable to relax
Difficulty sleeping or staying present
Avoidance of situations that trigger stress
Feeling out of control or easily overwhelmed

Trauma happens when our mind and body experience more stress than we can handle in the moment. Traumatic experiences are subjective. Everyone reacts differently, and the effects may appear immediately or even years later. When trauma goes unprocessed, it can leave you feeling stuck, anxious, or disconnected from yourself and others. Trauma is often stored in the body, unconscious and subconscious , which is why somatic interventions, such as EMDR can be very effective.
Some ways it may present:
Stuck in the survival state
flashbacks, reliving past events unexpectedly
Feeling emotionally numb and or disconnected
Hyperaware or vigilant
Constant anxiety or feeling “on edge”: heightened stress response even in familiar and secure situations
Difficulty trusting yourself or others
Avoidance of triggers or stressful situations, possibly steering clear of people, places, or topics that bring up past pain

Motherhood is one of the most beautiful experiences of life and can also be one of the most challenging. It’s rarely one single thing that feels hard; rather, it’s wearing so many hats at once. Often, your own needs and self-care are the first to be neglected, creating a cycle of overwhelm. There’s no book, class, or “one right way” to mother , you are the expert for your child , yet many women feel doubt, uncertainty, and stress along the way.
We support moms through all stages: the transition into motherhood, navigating the “thick of motherhood,” and the evolving dynamics of a growing family. We also help women manage changes in relationships, social expectations, marriage, and professional life.
For many moms, previous relationships, suppressed experiences, or dynamics with their own mother can surface as they navigate parenting. Becoming a mother often brings a desire for personal growth, healing, and breaking generational patterns — while balancing the realities of raising a child.
What might be showing up:
Managing Stress & Overwhelm: Tools and strategies to reduce anxiety, burnout, and daily overwhelm.
Processing Past Experiences: Address unresolved patterns from previous relationships, childhood, or your own mother.
Emotional Regulation: Learn to navigate mood swings, irritability, and emotional ups and downs.
Building Confidence & Self-Compassion: Reconnect with your identity, set boundaries, and trust your parenting choices.
Relationship Support: Navigate changes in marriage, social life, and family dynamics with clarity and confidence.
Supporting Growth & Self-Discovery :Use motherhood as a catalyst for personal growth, healing generational patterns, and building resilience.
Practical Parenting Strategies: Guidance to balance responsibilities while caring for your emotional well-being
Somatic awareness & attunement: Tune into your body and emotions, release stored tension, improve emotional regulation, and reconnect with self-trust and presence

Change is inevitable and can be experienced through a complexity of emotions. Change can be hard, unfamiliar, exciting, forced, and or anticipated. During this time it is important to process and have support as you navigate these changes, even when they are positive ones. Some transitions can look like shifts in career changes, relationship changes, loss, relocation, moving to college, parenthood, or entering new life stages. Therapy helps clients process emotions, adjust to new roles, and navigate change with greater clarity, resilience, and confidence.
What might be showing up:
Feeling overwhelmed, uneasy and or mixed emotions about all or parts of the transition
Heightened levels of stress during periods of change and or for a specific transition
Challenges processing emotions related to endings or loss of familiarity
Difficulty adjusting to new roles or expectations
Self-doubt, mistrust and, or fear of the unknown

Many clients initially seek support for specific challenges, only to discover that these concerns are rooted in a lack of self-trust. Self-trust is developed and strengthened throughout life through experiences, relationships, events, and personal perception. It is a foundational pillar of living authentically and moving out of confusion which can often increase emotional distress and symptoms.
People may experience self-mistrust for many reasons, including early life experiences such as inconsistent or critical caregiving, past trauma or betrayal, learned patterns like people-pleasing or over-reliance on external validation, and cognitive or emotional factors such as fear of making mistakes or perfectionism. Major life transitions or periods of stress can also challenge self-trust, leaving individuals feeling uncertain, disconnected from their instincts, or hesitant in decision-making.
Therapeutic support focuses on helping clients recognize these patterns, reconnect with their inner guidance, understand parts of themselves, attune to their true needs, and strengthen their self-trust to help build confidence, clarity, and alignment with their authentic selves
